
Dr Ravi Sockalingam, PhD ABAC FAAA

Dr. Ravi is a highly accomplished audiologist with an impressive 30 years of international experience. He initiated his audiology career in 1993 at a prominent hospital in Singapore, pioneering the implementation of advanced hearing and vestibular rehabilitation and neurodiagnostic programs. Following the completion of his Ph.D., at the University of Queensland, Australia, he became a full-time faculty in audiology at that university for three years, and later worked at Dalhousie University, Canada, and Canterbury University, New Zealand for five and half years.
Dr. Ravi’s global journey continued as he joined Oticon A/S at their International Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2007. His impactful three-year tenure led him to the U.S., where he became the Director of Research and Professional Relations for Oticon Medical. In 2021, Dr. Ravi relocated to Singapore, assuming the role of Senior Clinical and Research Director for Oticon Medical in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. Recently, he decided to return to clinical practice and moved to McAllen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, driven by a passion to contribute to audiology in an underserved community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Ravi is a trained pastry chef, having honed his skills at the Pastry Academy by Amaury Guichon in Las Vegas and at the Lucas Baking School in Bangkok. With two diplomas in pastry arts, he enjoys baking artisanal breads and pastries when not attending to patients. Dr. Ravi’s diverse interests also include reading, traveling, and spending time with his two Shih Tzus.
